Page 7 Philip II
Mary upon becoming Queen
quickly married the Most Catholic King Philip II of Spain,
who happened also to be a great-grandson of Ferdinand and Isabella
through their other daughter and Catherine's sister Juana the Mad.
Juana's son Charles V, King of Spain and Holy Roman Emperor,
had as son Philip II of Spain.
In other words, Philip II was Mary's first cousin once removed.
She proceeded to massacre Protestants and to become known as Bloody Mary.
