Celia - I don't think we are closely related but there may be a tenuous
connection.
My father, Richard Quartermaine (1905 - 1999), was born near Abingdon,
Berkshire (now Oxfordshire). His sister Barbara (Babs - married name
Summers) still lives in England and has a copy of the book "The
Quartermaine's of Oxfordshire" which I have always meant to have copied.
