1455: First Battle of Saint Albans, the first battle of the Wars of
the Roses, the Battle of Saint Albans occurred when Richard, Duke of
York became convinced that the king's wife, Margaret of Anjou, was
plotting his destruction with Edmund Beaufort, the Duke of Somerset.
Somerset was killed and King Henry VI captured.
