This chart gives a fuller flavor of the marriage relations among the families (Rycott, Quartermain, Englefield, Danvers, and Fowler), which went well beyond simple descendancy, given that more than once siblings of one family married siblings of another family. Also note that Lee shows Rycott as having been inherited in the female line for four or five generations.
